The EX trims come in at 36 mpg combined, while the Civic Touring rates 33 mpg.
The base models are still a more fun and premium feeling alternative to a base Civic or Corolla though. 2021 rejigged the trim levels into a bit better spread, IMO, and added a turbo option, plus it avoids the recalls that plagued the 2019s. For the inflated price of used and the lower financing rates on new right now, a new 2021 is the way to go.
